Jimmie Gonzalez

Writer / Director / Executive Producer

Known to many as veteran Las Vegas DJ “Speedy”, Jimmie continues to evolve as musician, DJ and filmmaker. His vision for fusing electronic music, subversive cinema and technology has taken him from DJ’ing all over the world, to composing, writing and directing.

As a youth Jimmie’s exposure to music from his two older brothers was just as prevalent to his love of movies. Spending countless bonding weekends at drive-in theaters with his father, Jimmie was exposed to 70’s and 80’s horror and genre cinema — instilling a sub-conscious inspiration to his inevitable future.

After the 2004 release of mixed DVD’s; “The Colors of Darkness” and “Electro Euro-Trash”; deemed “masterful”, by both Urb Magazine and horror film staple Rue Morgue, the journey into visual territory unearthed the confidence within him to pursue his life long goal – filmmaking.

Jimmie’s directorial music video debut “Bad Habits” for artist Dan Diamond gained international appeal on MTV Europe and featured on DJ Bad Boy Bill’s “Behind the Decks Live” DVD. Other viral videos followed including projects for Mike E. Clark, Jose 2 Hype and John Acquaviva’s Definitive Records imprint label.

In 2006, his debut short film entitled “Blood on the Tissues” was selected as a finalist in the Howard Stern Film Festival. The horror comedy, and Stern show reputation, was just the right formula needed to showcase Jimmie’s over the top display of sex, violence and adult humor. His film was called; “a top notch production, right up there with any Hollywood slasher film” by renowned film critic, Richard Roeper.

In 2008, he composed the music for “Level 26: Dark Origins”, for CSI creator, Anthony E. Zuiker. The ground breaking digi-novel release featured “Speedy’s” most haunting and visceral music to date, commercially displaying his eclectic electronic sound for both film and book fans.
